How To Install Premier PVC Columns?

The premier PVC material that the columns are constructed from can easily be cut down with general carpentry and woodworking tools. Pneumatic finish staplers and nailers can be used to secure cellular PVC parts together. Giant pneumatic framing staplers and nailers are not ideal for fixing this material. The impact of the drivers of these large nail guns can fracture the PVC material.

1. Measure the height of where the Column is to be installed. Decrease this measurement by 1/2" and cut to size.

2. Using the book tape method, tape three boards together to form a "U." Make sure that the bunch miter edges or 90's line up with each other. Pin or bolt this U section to the cleats. Others recommend that two "L" shaped pieces should be assembled properly, but we find using the U method more comfortable as trees or shrubs are less inclined to get in the way.

3. Place the partly built handle be place and level (plumb). With a pencil, mark where the column shaft's top and bottom are to be placed, considering the inside measurement.

4. Secure using Tapcon Screws, pins, staples, and sticky the embedded PVC cleats to the bottom of the shaft, direct connection with concrete is adequate.

5. You are now able to glue and tape in the closing panel.

6. Once the glue has been set, eliminate the tape and pin the cover and base in place.

Before installing Tapered PVC Columns , there are some essential factors to take into consideration.

1. Never split from the top of the column shaft, if you do, the shaft diameter will get more prominent, and the pre-cut capital will not fit. Do cut from the base as needed. The shaft diameter gets smaller when the bottom is cut more precisely.

2. Measure the height of anywhere the Column is to be installed. Decrease this measurement by 1/2" and cast to size. Seeing as how the shaft facets are sloped, you may need a plum line to decide where to cast the panels. Alternatively, you may decrease the shaft after the "U" shape has been paste together.

3. Before measuring for the braces, using the book tape method, tape three panels together to form a "U." Ensure that the connection miter edges or '90s are square and line up with each other.

4. Use the U-shaped shaft as a template to mark where the base wood cleats are to be fastened, keeping the inside measurements.

5. Fill any defects with outer caulking or spackling, sand, and you're ready to paint. Painting is not compulsory but does enhance the appearance of the column wrap.
